Sometimes the cutting blades of the harvester's header get stuck during operation, which seriously affects the harvesting progress and even damages the machine parts. In response to this situation, the agricultural machinery operators of the 859 Farm have explored the correct installation methods of fixed and moving blades in practice, avoiding jamming and achieving good results. It is introduced as follows:
When the cutting knife often gets stuck, it is necessary to correctly adjust the moving gap between the moving blade and the fixed blade in the cutting table part, which is commonly known as the "obstacle gap". When the centerline of the moving blade of the assembled cutter coincides with the centerline of the blade guard, the front end of the moving blade should be in contact with the fixed blade. The maximum gap at the front end should not exceed 0.5 millimeters, and the maximum gap at the rear end should not exceed 1.5 millimeters. The number of all clearances should not exceed one-third of the total number of blades. Otherwise, all cutter blades should be corrected by adding or removing gaskets. When the fit position between the moving blade and the fixed blade is incorrect, the length of the connecting rod or the blade shank in the cutter drive mechanism should be adjusted in time so that when the cutter moves to the left and right limit positions, the center line of the moving blade coincides with that of the fixed blade, and the deviation should not exceed 5 millimeters. If there is an individual deviation, a steel pipe can be placed over the blade guard, and the blade guard can be adjusted by prying horizontally. If there are too many weeds in the field or obstacles such as bricks, stones, and iron wires, it is very easy for the cutting knife to get clogged or damaged. Therefore, the cutting edge should be raised. In addition, for crop fields with high yields and high density, when harvesting, the driving speed should be appropriately reduced, the engine throttle increased, and the rotational speed of the cutting parts raised.
